I rang in my 2020 in Rio De Janerio, Brazil, the first day of 2020 I was one of the first persons to walked into one of the Seven World Wonder, The Christ The Redeemer Statue. I spent a total of 6 days in Brazil majority of which was spent sightseeing, hiking and eating.
Rio De Janerio is indescribable, the energy from that city is unmatched. On New Year’s Eve over one million gathered together, all dressed in white on Copacabana- it was a sight! The hiking sites were breathtakingly beautiful. The views were beautiful, and I could not get enough of them. Here are the highlights of my time in Brazil:
Pedra Do Telegrafo and Two Brother’s Hike | Both are worth the view!
Dinner a Copacabana Palace | A bit pricey but…. Worth it. Be sure to go grab food after, you will be hungry.
Ipanema | We biked from Copacabana to Ipanema
Christ the Redeemer | Bucket List Goal!
Escadaria Selaron | You haven’t been to Brazil unless you visit here.
Brazilian steakhouse | You must!
Jardim Botanical Gardens | The view, the atmosphere and food was well worth it.
Royal Portuguese Room | I felt like I was in a magical fairytale
The World’s Largest Graffiti | Prepare to walk and be wowed!
Rio De Janerio is a must visit. I wanted to spend a longer time but I think I got to see and do a lot in the short time.
I adored Rio, too. Wish I spoke Portugese to visit all the theatre venues, open Thur-Sun! Other than your fab mentions, I enjoyed wonderful dance companies (plus block parties at Carnival) & movies in english (they don’t dub, so it’s quite noisy!) Love your bookclub, thanks for your curation & energy: I’ve donated. Best wishes from the UK
